MathleticsNanxiang students all have access to Mathletics, an interactive e-learning resource that we use to supplement our existing classroom maths programmes, to provide additional specialised resources and support, and to extend our most gifted and talented mathematicians. It also functions as an excellent revision tool for senior secondary students. The programme, which children can use both in school and at home, is designed to respond to individual pupils' strengths and weaknesses so that they instantly know if they are on the right track in a particular topic or subject area, and can improve at their own pace. The step-by-step animated support means that pupils can always access help with areas with which they may be unfamiliar. One of the most motivating parts of the programme is Live Mathletics, online competitions where they can challenge other students - from all around the world - in real-time games of speed and skill. Pupils are rewarded for progress and improvement, not just absolute achievement, which means that all pupils using Mathletics are constantly being encouraged and motivated to improve their skills, and they are being recognised for what they as individuals accomplish, relative to their starting point. The programme has proved immensely popular with pupils from all age groups and is a valuable resource for teachers, parents and pupils alike.
