Early Years Foundation Stage

The Early Years Foundation Stage promotes learning through play-based activities.  It continues to encourage young minds and bodies to develop while exploring the world around them.  Activities are structured to encourage, building confidence in both formal and informal situations.  Parent communication is of an extremely high standard with every parent receiving a detailed daily email recounting the day's activities; we consider this vital during this crucial stage in a child's development.  Our highly-trained and skilled Foundation Stage team ensures that every child feels valued and is safe.

Pre-Nursery Class

In the Pre-nursery class, young children learn through different kinds of games and little jobs, with the focus on developing their speech and social skills.

We have a timetable for the full day which covers all the aspects of potential learning and gives children the opportunity to learn at their own pace.

We ensure that children reach the appropriate level of learning before moving on to the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum through providing a wide range of daily experiences in a rich and interesting environment.

The class follows the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, based on the UK Early Learning Goals. The Early Years curriculum serves as a thorough preparation for progression into the Reception class.  It acts not only as a transition between home and school, but also develops in children the learning habits necessary to access education at a later age.

The Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum is organized into six areas of learning: - Personal, social and emotional development - Communication, language and literacy - Problem Solving, reasoning and numeracy - Knowledge and understanding of the world - Physical development - Creative development
